What Happens During & After Your Veinwave Treatment

Veinwave is an electrical device that uses a needle holder and a footpedal. Our Doctor identifies the area for treatment, and inserts an ultra-fine insulated needle into the needle holder. The treatment is applied only to the top layers of your skin, which means it doesn't actually pierce your veins. 

The effect of the treatment is instant, meaning that you can actually see the veins disappearing immediately.  Some patients leave after treatment without actually seeing any visible signs of the procedure on their skin (other than the veins being gone).  If you have sensitive skin, you may notice a little reddening, which usually go away in a few days or even hours.

Most patients would describe the feeling of the treatment as a warm pin prick, or a very minor sting which immediately goes away.  Compared to many other laser treatments, the treatment is relatively painless.

After treatment, you can go back to your daily activities.  In some cases, it's recommended that you either hold off from sunbathing, or at least use a sunblock.  After a few days, tiny crust marks may appear on the skin (the small kind you might see after getting a cat scratch).  These are perfectly normal, and no special care is needed as they will disappear on their own.

Veins that are treated with Veinwave will never return.  But keep in mind that if someone has a tendency towards getting spider veins, it's always possible that other veins may appear elsewhere in the future.  Should that happen, those veins can also be treated.
